Beya / Stables

Beya (or sometimes spelt heya) are the teams of rikishi under one management.

Riksishi from the same stable cannot fight one another in honbasho.

In Virtual Sumo (but not real life sumo) are ranked by a reputation score each turn. Their score is determined by:

Highest ranking rikishi
Ranking of all rikishi
Ranking of retired rikishi measured by rank at time of retirement)
Honbasho wins

They are four ranks of beya, White, Bronze, Silver and Gold. All new stable managers begin at the White Rank and must work their way up by achieving a higher reputation.

The ranking of a beya determines how many rikishi it can house:

White 3
Bronze 4
Silver 6
Gold 10

The ranking of beya also determines the order of entitlement to draft picks, with the lowest ranking beya getting the first picks. This is to help ensure that new beya can, over time, compete at the top level. However you can improve your beya's place in the draft by entering moshiai. Every rikishi entered into a moshiai will earn their beya points determined by how close to winning the moshiai they are. These points will not effect a stable's reputation but will inflate their position on the draft list.

Gold ranking beya also have the chance to draft in specialist coaches which will enable a wider range of training possibilities for their rikishi.
